Middle Class? What's that?

The Basic: Poor --> Middle Class --> Wealthy.
Then, when they realized a diversity in the Middle Class: Poor --> Lower Middle Class --> Upper Middle Class --> Wealthy.
Now: Poor <-- \--> Wealthy. The arrows and break indicate that the Wealthy may become poor, but the Poor may not become Wealthy (At least not by honest means).

BUT enough of lame diagrams.
Ever since I encountered it, I avoided politics. History was the first class I ever received a B in. I nearly effectively pretended it was something foreign, some illusion put in my mind to frighten me. But now I barely wrench open one eyelid to see: We are getting ****ed over.
No I have not just noticed this; I had a vague impression growing in my mind since that very first encounter.
We pay taxes essentially for ourselves. We pay higher taxes for things we do not need, or things we do not understand why we do not need. We pay even higher taxes for other people's and company's mistakes that may or may not effect us, and then we are taxed more so they can give some of our own money back to us.
This is the vague impression I received when I glanced. At least what I got from this subject.

I rather learn about the past economy than the present's. I rather learn about kings and peasants. I wondered for a second. . . Couldn't "President" be synonomous to "King?" Couldn't we be the peasants? Is our President just a king with "checks and balances?"
Remember hearing about when only rich people could have cars? How having a car was a luxory and not a necessity? Are we so far from that?

Okay, I'm done. Sorry for the long ass story, just got done reading some John Steinbeck. And yeah, I'm aware I'm jobless and may not have the authority to bitch about this, but I was just thinking about it.

I may be grave digging a post now, but here goes.

So the way I see it as far as the "Poor, Lower Middle, Upper Middle, Rich" thing goes is about a crude way to talk about tax brackets.

http://www.moneychimp.com/features/tax_brackets.htm

As far as the economy goes, in today's world we are totally ****ed. It has gone on for way to long and it will take us a sizable amount of time to pick things up.

China owns us.

Back to Taxes, I think the bull**** AIG pulled is ****ed up and worse than AIG would be the American Governments failure to stop it. Contact my ass, they wouldn't have jobs if it weren't for tax money. This shows that the government has no real plan and is just throwing money at a problem. They are breaking the system, turning it from Free Enterprise into a Socialist style government.

The invisable hand is showing its middle finger.

A president is very synonymous to a king. The core differences being that a president is voted into office and not just handed the power like a king is, and a president doesn't have the kind of authority to do whatever he likes. Besides that, we are peasants in a country ruled by the government. Don't be fooled though, the peasants are to blame. For so long, people have thought that by handing the government more and more power, things will get better. The problem with that is the people we hand the power to. You can't just hand power to someone in charge and always expect them to act in the interest of the people. We hand the government more money and they spend it on women and booze. We vote them into office and they pass laws to serve the rich. The government no longer works in the interest of the people (it could be argued that they never did), instead, they work for themselves and they manipulate our minds into giving them more power.

As for the reference to cars; having a car has become a dependence. It is no longer a necessity. Most people couldn't manage to get to work or school in the morning without a vehicle, especially considering how public transportation is nearly gone. You could also go further than that and say that we have a dependence on technology; phones, computers, and and other such entertainment providing devices. I love technology, but I don't want to depend on it.
